Become a TPN Scholar
The Zuher Ibrahim Memorial Scholarship provides annual scholarships to incoming or current students of Tigrayan descent pursuing a degree at an accredited 4-year university in the U.S.
In partnership with the Tigray Communities Forum, TPN established the annual scholarship program to empower Tigrayans in their pursuit to achieve academic success. Following the selection of the 2022 recipients, our beloved TPN National Chair, Zuher Ibrahim, passed away and the scholarship was renamed in her honor.
For our second year, we have increased the number of scholarship recipients from two to a total of 10:
$1,000: one female and one male
$500: two females and two males
$250: two females and two males

ANNOUNCE WINNERS
Scholarship recipients will be notified by June 7, 2024. The funds will be released within 2 weeks.
ELIGIBILITY
To apply for this scholarship, you must be planning to attend or are currently attending college, university, or trade school.
If selected, you have to use the funds to pay for your educational expenses.
Applicants must be from Tigray or of Tigrayan origin
Applicants must live in North America including Canada or Tigray (unless you are abroad and planning to attend any of the institutions mentioned in point 1 in North America)
Provide evidence of transcript and required documents
Submit SAT and/or ACT test score. If already in college, you can submit your college transcript
Plan to attend an accredited 4 years university, community college, within the United States/Canada or affiliated with a United States-based college or university.
You may have the option to submit scholarship application for trade schools (subject to review and approval by committee).

About Zuher Ibrahim
Zuher Ibrahim was a graduate student at Fordham University intending to pursue a doctoral program after completing graduate school. She worked full-time at a law firm and dedicated her life to serving others. Zuher was a courageous leader that advocated for various causes connected to social inequity. She worked day and night advocating for Tigray through several organizations hoping to one day see a Free Tigray.
Zuher not only exemplified the qualities of our most ideal scholarship recipient, but she also played an instrumental role in the creation and rollout of the first annual scholarship program. It is only fitting that this cause continues in Zuher’s honor as a testament to her tireless dedication to advocacy, academics, and all things Tigray.
